Is this a legit post—or did someone get onto this sit and post it? Doesn’t seem to fit the topic.

It is a request from Kathleen Sciacca. She is linked on the Families Act Website run by Suzanne Riordan in San Bernadino. (http://www.westentech.com/fact/) Their focus is dual diagnosis. The Seminar is related more to that, although geared to SUD/MH treatment and counseling professionals which comprise 20% of viewers on the mailing list. The fact sheet PDF bullet points what it is all about.

I’ve read the book Motivational Interviewing, heard the co-author William Miller speak, and attended several trainings on motivational interviewing. I use it every single day in my work as a counselor. I highly recommend this approach as a way to proactively build motivation for change. It works. Much more humane and effective than waiting for someone to “hit bottom!”
