Thats a great idea. http://www.dadonfire.net is a wodrpress based web-blog and is broad in focus. I gut tells me specific focus will net the best exchange: Check Ron Grover’s blog. He has had a lot of success: https://dadonfire.net/2009/12/30/7-truths-about-my-addict/ (His blog: http://www.parentsofanaddict.blogspot.com )

Bill – I would like to do a blog post on “Advocacy”. You are well informed in this area and I would appreciate your help. Because I feel uncomfortable “doing nothing” and essentially, am just waiting for my heroin addict daughter to take some steps toward recovery on her own, I would like, in the mean time, to take a more active role in this journey of addiction in the family. So – could you give me some tips and recommendations, which I will use in a blog post, of things that parents and family members of drug addicts could do in their own community, schools, social networks to deal with and/or facilitate the recovery process for all addicts? Sorry this is so wordy – couldn’t quite streamline my thoughts – but I hope you get the gist. I feel helpless in regards to my own daughter, yet have learned a lot about addiction and have raised my consciousness, awareness, and compassion levels so much, that I can’t help but feel that I could contribute something, somewhere in my conservative, provincial community. If you could, and when you have time (hah !), I’d love to hear from you. Please contact me through my email address: peglud@charter.net. Thanks, Peggy
